Mold Shipping Process (Post Validation)
This process outlines the key steps for shipping plastic injection molds after successful validation, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery to customers.
Conduct a comprehensive pre-shipping inspection using the “Shipment Inspection Checklist for Plastic Injection Mold” to verify mold integrity (structure, functionality, safety), packaging quality, and completeness of documents/accessories. Confirm all inspection items are qualified and record the results.
Thoroughly clean the mold surface and key components (core, cavity, guide pillars) to remove debris, oil stains, and residual molding materials. Apply anti-rust oil/grease evenly on the mold surface and protect key components (e.g., core, cavity) with protective covers or films to prevent corrosion and damage during transportation.
Select appropriate packaging materials (sturdy wooden cases, moisture-proof cartons, etc.) that meet international shipping standards. Fix the mold firmly inside the packaging using bolts, brackets, or shock-absorbing materials to avoid shifting and collision. Add moisture-proof and shock-absorbing materials as needed, and seal the packaging tightly.
Documentation & Accessories Preparation
Collate and attach complete documents: mold design drawings, material certification, inspection report, trial molding report, operation manual, maintenance manual, and customs documents (if applicable). Pack spare parts (ejector pins, guide sleeves, etc.) and special tools separately, mark them clearly, and place them in the packaging.
Shipping Arrangement & Tracking
Choose a reliable logistics partner based on customer requirements (delivery time, destination, cost). Confirm shipping details (shipping method, route, contact information) and arrange for mold loading. Provide the customer with shipping documents and tracking information, and track the shipment status in real time to ensure timely delivery. Notify the customer in advance when the shipment is about to arrive.
Post-Shipping Follow-Up
After delivery, follow up with the customer to confirm successful receipt and check if the mold is intact. Provide technical support promptly if the customer has questions about unpacking, installation, or use of the mold.
