1. Is it a sole proprietorship or a joint venture?

GPTMOLD is a Hong Kong sole enterprise Owns two mainland companies

2. When was the art department established?

It was established in 2006.

3. How many employees do we have?

We now have over 120 employees.

4. The scale of the association of art elite department?

Our production site is more than 4,000 square meters

5. Could you please introduce the company's main customers?

Our clients are mostly overseas companies. These include some well-known companies such as Philips, GM, MTD, GM, TATA, etc

6. Mainly producing injection molding, die-casting or other types of molds?

We mainly make injection molds. Sometimes we manufacture some cast mold at the customer's request

7. What is the annual output?

We can produce about 300~500 sets of injection molds each year.

8. Is there a special injection molding machine for mold test?

We have 5 special injection molding machines, ranging from 50 tons to 780 tons.

9. How many shifts are implemented in a day?

Some departments such as CNC, EDM, polishing department are two shifts a day; modeling department as appropriate; other departments are one shift per day.

10. Are there any office or factory in Hong Kong?

No, the Hong Kong office serves as a point of contact.

11. How long is the production cycle of a general set of molds?

From the determination of design drawings to the first test mold generally 25-55 days, depending on the size of the mold, complexity and other conditions.

12. Has the operator received any specialized training?

yes. The equipment company has trained them.

13. How long is the equipment and measuring tested?

For large, complex equipment, we test it every 6 months, usually every 4 months.

14. What steel is used to make the molds?

We use the steel specified by the customer. We usually use imported steel. Such as Assab, Sweden, Edel, Germany, Daido, Japan, et al.

15. What kind of moldbase usually purchased?

We usually order from Minli and LKM

16. Which brand of hot runner is used?

According to the customer requirements, the most used is the Mold-Master, Incoe, Yudo, Hasco.D.M. E class.

17. How to do texture ,heat treatment, nitriding and so on?

These auxiliary processing is done by our cooperative processing plant, which are very professional.

18. How to monitor the engineering process and mold precision?

We designate project engineers to be responsible for the product process and communicate with customers.

19. What is the precision of the mold?

For mold we can reach 0 precision of 001 mm; the product can reach 0.01mm.

20. Is it difficult to communicate with technology in English?

There is absolutely no problem, using English is very common here

21. Which standard is used? Is it the metric system or the British system?

Both can, we can use according to customer requirements.

22. Which one is the most important one in the process of manufacturing the molds?

We think which process is equally important.

23. Can the steel certificate and the heat treatment certificate be provided?

Yes, steel suppliers and heat treatment manufacturers can provide proof.

24. Using copper or graphite as the electrodes?

Both can be.

• Have the staff ever been trained?

Each department has a relative training program.

25. Can you explain the payment method of the department?

New model: 40% deposit, 30% test, 30% before the model, model change: 100% within one week after the confirmation of the latest model: 50% PO payment, 50% before the model.

26. How is the mold packaged?

To see where the mold is shipped. Mds to the mainland only need general packaging. Export molds are strictly packaged according to the export standards.

27. What is the tax rate of molds exported to the United States?

The total tax rate is about 13%. Our offer is generally FOB Hong Kong.

28. What will you do if there is a problem with the mold after the mold is shipped?

This never happened, but if it happened, if it is our responsibility, we are bound to pay all the costs.

29. Who pays for the mold modification fee?

The minor changes are made for free. Major changes are borne by the party responsible party. If it is our responsibility, we pay the modification; if the customer, they pay.

30. Can you make spare parts be made for customers?

Yes, as long as the customer requests it.

31. What is your standard design lead time?

Design lead time is 2 days for initial 2D design and 2~3days for 3D design upon approval of 2D design.

32. What is your standard quote lead time?

Quotes are provided within 1 days from receipt of RFQ.

33. What is your common lead time?

Our common lead time from design approval to T1 sampling is 3-6 weeks, depending on mold requirements and part complexity.

34. What is your standard warranty for tooling?

GPT Mold warrants the quality, workmanship and materials used in producing molds for a period of 180 days or 250,000 cycles, whichever occurs first, from the date of delivery of the mold(s) to the customer. GPT Mold will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace all parts determined to be defective as to quality, workmanship or materials. The customer is solely responsible for mold design, design specifications and design approval. No warranty is provided concerning the design of the mold. Any failure of the mold or any mold components arising from or related to design is not warranted.

35. What is your standard warranty for molding?

GPT Mold warrants the molded products it produces to client design specifications to be free of defects in quality, workmanship and materials for a period of twelve months from the shipment date and will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace products determined to be defective. This warranty shall not apply to breakage caused by product misuse. GPT Mold does not warrant the customer design or product defects or failure arising from customer design or design-related issues.

36. Are factory visits encouraged?

Yes, we welcome customers to visit our facility and we will work with customers to assist in obtaining the necessary Visa paperwork, travel plans, accommodations, etc.

37. Do you handle freight of molds and molded products?

Door to door freight of molds or molded products going to be managed if requested by customer. Freight is provided in the quotation as an separated item.

Do you use inch or metric components?

All mold components for our US customers are made using standard inch components, unless otherwise specified by customer.

38. Can you provide US made components?

Through our US office we can purchase any requested US brand components per your specifications.

39. What are your standard payment terms for tooling?

We request a 50% deposit with your order. 40% payment is due after T1 samples and the 10% balance is due 14 days after the receipt of the mold. The freight amount will be invoiced in full after T1 sampling, and is payable prior to mold shipment.

40. What are your standard payment terms for molding?

Standard terms for molding are a 50% deposit with order and the 50% balance is due prior to product shipment, including all freight costs.

42. How many shifts do you operate every day?

For CNC, EDM and Polishing Departs, two shifts; Mold Shop depends on the work loading; the others are one shift.

43. How many molds do you make annually?

Averagely, we make about 250 to 330 molds annually.

44. How long is the lead-time for a mold?

It all depends on the mold's size, complexity and design. Usually, the lead-time is about 20-56days.

45. How many employees are there in your factory?

There are more than 120 employees in our factory.

46. Have the operators been trained specially?

Yes, they have.

47. How about the tolerance?

Mold tolerance is 0.005 mm, Product tolerance is 0.02 mm.

48. What steel do you usually use?

We usually use steel of P20, P20H, H-13,O-1,S-7,420,420H,D2, NAK80, 1.2311, 1.2711，1.2344，1.2510，1.2083，1.2316 and 1.2379. We can use all types of steel appointed by customer. Usually we use Swiss Assab, German Edel, Japan Daibo etc.

49. Do you have plastic injection machines for mold trail?

Yes, we have molding plant and test all the new molds there. The machines range from 50 tons to 1000 tons.

50. What standard components do you usually use?

We use standard components from LKM, DAIDO, HASCO, DME. (Hot Runner: MOLD MASTER、HUSKY、DME、HASCO、INCOE、THERMOPLAY、YUDO.)

51. How do you do the texture/text/heat-treatment /nitriding and so on?

We have the cooperative subsidiary factories to do that. They are more professional.

52. Which standards do you use, Metric or English?

Both of them are OK. We can use the standards requested by customer.

53. What do you need for quotation?
    We need 2D part drawing & 3D drawing, and specific mold or part requirements.
    2D File Format dwg /dxf /pdf/jpg ，3D Model Format step /x_t /igs /prt
54. How about your mold payment terms?
    For new mold, 40% deposit, 30% on first short, 30% before delivery. For modify mold, 100% one week upon the approval of the updated samples. For prototype mold, pay 50% when place P.O, and another 50% before mold delivery.
55. How about your part payment terms?
    Part payment terms:50%-50%.The first payment is when you assign the order,you should pay us 50% of the total value to purchase the material;The last payment is when we deliver the part for you,you should pay off the balance payment,50% of the total value.
56. Who pay the cost of modification?

The small changes are free. But for the great changes, if it is our fault, we pay; customers fault, they pay; both fault, both pay

57. How do you pack the mold?

It all depends where the molds are shipped. For the mold inland: general packing method For the mold exported oversea: we pack it strictly in accordance to standard of export regulation.

58. If there has problem on the mold after the shipment, How do you handle the matter?

This kind of matter has never happened to us before. But if it happens and it is our fault, we pay all the cost without any bargain.

59. What’s your after sales?
    After sales:Our customer’s mold drawings and the whole data will be kept in database for 5 years at least.so that when you need our technical support or service,we can be easy and possible to serve you and your customers.
