Optical Mold Making


Optical lens moldWe are focusing on Optical Mold making with high quality diamond turning, SPI A1 polishing with PC and PMMA transparent material for more than 15 years in Optoelectronics,consumer electronics ; automotive, lighting, telecommunications, Monitoring and military sectors. Each optical component is only as good as the appropriate tool. Accurate technical preparation and constant control of the tolerance limits are the success factors for a consistently high quality in series production – even with large production volumes. The GPT Optics has its own high-precision tool with many years of experience and advanced machinery. In this way we ensure a consistently high quality in mass production.

The optical inserts are manufactured with a multi-axis diamond turning machine with air bearing guides and spindles. Form accuracies of up to +/- 2-3 μ (depending on diameter and optical requirements) and surface roughness less than 5 nm are possible.

The fast/ slow tooling, an ultra-precise extra unit, enabling the creation of microstructures and non-rotationally symmetric operations. These inserts are for example needed for producing free-form surfaces or aspheric.

During prototyping, the high-precision tools are first time in use. Prototypes or small batches can be produced by injection moulding with trial and pre-series

Our Dust-Free workshop equipped with 16 sets advanced injection machine from 85 to 450 Ton for optical injection molding, The most transparent material we use are PC and PMMA, part weight from 0.05 gram to 0.5KG. Our Products include LED Lighting, imaging optics, wide-angle lens; magnifier; Oculus Rift,3d glasses, optics lens of Aspheric and Spherical ; light guides, head up display for auto; In serial production of precision plastic optics, the GPT Optics offers Plastic optics with high accuracy in the weight range of a few tenths of a gram to thick-walled components are realized through the injection moulding process.

The injection-compression moulding process is a modification of the injection moulding process to produce thin-walled extensive plastic optics, micro structures and low-stress components of plastics.

Our fully air-conditioned production halls are equipped with clean room conditions. These high quality requirements must be met for downstream optical coating processes. Machines with clamping forces from 50 kN to 200 kN are available in our series production.

Robots, conveyor belts, tool storage and palletizing systems enable automated and therefore cost-effective serial production of plastic optics. High volumes of up to several million components per year, but also small batches of a few thousand plastic optics can be realized in case of our flexible production planning.

 


Optical Coating

Optical coatings are used to reflect, direct and filter light, prevent light reflection, protect surfaces, and improve the quality of optical components. GPT Optics is your expert partner in the design, manufacture, and coating of polymer-based optical components and systems. Plastics have established themselves as a material for optical components. LED reflectors, components for medical technologies and many other elements can be implemented cost efficient and in large quantities. An optical coating can improve the physical characteristics and features of a plastic lens. Not only the control of the optical properties, such as an anti-reflection or reflections, but also the mechanical and chemical properties can be influenced. By the optical coating the plastic optics is resistant to gases and moisture. For the coating of the optical components, we use the physical vapor deposition, the PVD. Modern software tools and a coating system from Optics enable the calculation and optimization of the optical properties and features.

The following optical functions can be achieved by optical coating:

  • antireflection (AR) for anti-reflection

  • reflex increase (HR) for reflections and filters

  • Hard coating to increase the scratch resistance, for example glassy hardness of coating with SiO2

  • Topcoat for chemical function alization
