Prepare a plated-part enquiry

For a project involving plated automotive parts, begin with the substrate, treatment areas and finished-part acceptance requirements. Use your current drawing and finish specification to define the enquiry.

Information to provide

• Base material and resin grade, with the part model and drawing revision
• Surfaces intended for plating, masking boundaries and areas to protect
• Erscheinungsreferenz, inspection conditions and permitted visual variation
• Mating dimensions and any required tests after treatment
• Sample quantity, expected volume and responsibility for the finishing process

Agree the review and acceptance scope

Clarify whether the request concerns the mold for a plastic part, the finished plated component, oder beides. Agree what will be supplied and how the molded substrate and treated samples will be checked.
