Industrial part tooling

Match the tooling route to the function of the industrial component. GPTMOLD reviews custom mold enquiries for equipment housings, power-tool parts and other industrial applications.

Start with the working environment, assembly interfaces and material requirements. Use that brief to discuss injection tooling, composite molds, die casting or another appropriate route.

Turn functional needs into tooling requirements

Loads and environment

Describe mechanical loads, temperature, chemicals, outdoor exposure and expected use. Specify the required material and performance tests rather than relying on a generic durability claim.

Fit and assembly

Identify mating parts, fasteners, inserts and critical datums. Review ribs, wall sections, undercuts, sealing surfaces and the inspection criteria for assembly fit.

Production and handover

Provide expected volume and the intended production process. Agree trial quantities, sample review, maintenance information and the records needed to transfer the tool into production.

What to include in your enquiry

  • Part CAD, drawing revision and assembly references
  • Material grade, service conditions and required functional tests
  • Critical dimensions, visible areas and secondary operations
  • Expected production volume, preferred process and available equipment
  • Trial, documentation, delivery and project-timing requirements

The final manufacturing route, achievable specifications and project scope are confirmed after reviewing the part and production requirements.
